Chevron - Coke Drum Erection

Description:
The client needed to lift two new 725,000# coke drums from barges and then have the crane relocate to the lifting area to set them into place. The only solution the client believed to be available was the installation of guy-derricks on the other side of the unit. Sicklesteel compiled detailed lift plans through its CAD system to provide an alternate proposal of utilizing a DEMAG TC3200 (625 ton) with 177' of main boom. Although the plan detailed clearances from the coke drum to the bottom of the boom were less than 1 foot, the lift was performed safely, ahead of schedule, and well below budget.
