Shell - Low Sulfer Gasoline Unit Addition

Location:

Anacortes, Washington

Owner:

Shell Puget Sound Refinery

Description:

The client added a new unit to an existing facility requiring the transport and erection of two large vessels. One vessel was 195' high x 16.3' in diameter weighing 620,000# and the second vessel was 143' high x 16' diameter with a weight of 700,000#. Sicklesteel received the vessels from a ship and provided transportation services to the laydown area where the vessels were dressed out. After they were dressed out, Sicklesteel utilized a 4600 Ringer with 260' of boom and a Demag AC1300 and a Demag HC1020 as tandem tail cranes. Sicklesteel's lift design team gained state approval for the transportation plan as well as provided critical lift information for the client. Sicklesteel's transportation and lift directors ensured that the process went safely, smoothly and within budget.
